I was asked to create a shabby chic inspired mini album that would double as an album and guest book. I was given the paper collections they preferred (Teresa Collins Save the Date & Daily Stories, My Mind’s Eye The Sweetest Thing, Carta Bella It’s a Celebration by Alisha Gordon, and Authentique Wishes). Lots of embellies/stickers that coordinated with the paper collections were also included. I did however, include embellies of my own with some sequins, twine, Thickers, burlap, & ribbon. I used the Teresa Collins stencils and modeling paste for the cover to add texture.

I had a great time doing this project. I loved piecing together the pictures and paper to create a story and essentially a flow to it. My initial intention was to bind the book using the Cinch; however, as I kept adding to the book it became chunky. If I would’ve bound the book with the Cinch the pages would tug at the turns and  it would finalize the book. But, what if they wanted to add pictures or create a page of their own. I decided in the interest of the book not to be so tight and to leave the book with the ability to grow, I used two ring binders.

Since this book was to double as a guest book, I thought instead of leaving pages for guests to sign (as sometimes I find it to be messy or inconsistent in spacing- that’s my type A shining through), I used Project Life journaling cards for guests to write down words of wisdom, thoughts, well wishes, etc. The editions I used are: Blush, Neapolitan by Dear Lizzy, Maggie Holmes, Kraft, 5th & Frolic, Midnight & Honey. I included an envelope for additional journaling cards for one, and mementos for the other.

I hope they enjoyed the final product as Clarissa tells her story with it…

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this project.
